New York Dance Parade 2009
More than 4,000 dancers performing in 55 unique dance styles will samba, belly-dance, break, swing, tap, and bhangra down Broadway and on to Tompkins Square Park for an afternoon of free dance festivities and tutorials. Parade grand marshals — DJ Danny Krivit (house), Luis Salgado (Broadway), Don Cambell (locking), and Morocco (Middle Eastern) — encourage onlookers to boogie down along with Lei Pasifika, Fraternidad Folklorica Bolivia, and Ballet International Africans, as we all celebrate the sheer joy and connective power of dance.
When: Saturday May 16
Where: Broadway to Tompskins Square Park
