All week George (one of our bellmen) has been raving about Robert Restaurant. It is his new favorite place. It is never too crowded and provides a spectacular view. Wednesday-Saturday there is a live pianist from 8 to 11PM. And, as an added bonus, it is extremely easy to get there from the hostel. All you need to do is take the 1 train (located 2 blocks away from our location) and take it downtown to Columbus Circle. It is just off the train, located right above the Museum of Arts and Design.

No Pants Subway Ride!

This will be the tenth year that the brave and the bold of New York City will dare to go pantless in this organized event. Improv Everywhere's annual No Pants Subway Ride is scheduled for January 9th 2011. Yes, that's tomorrow! Details on how to participate are listed at improveverywhere.com.

Oragami Holiday Tree

Each year The American Museum of Natural History celebrates by putting a tree. But, this tree isn't like the other trees. This tree is covered in a myriad of multi-colored oragami ornaments made by volunteers. Inspired by the concept of a dinosaur dig, the theme for this years tree is Discovery. Be sure to check it out before they take it down on January 2!


Also, here is a dinosaur related side note. Jason at the front desk does an excellent impression of a raptor.

-The Roundabout Theatre Company offers $20 tickets to HIPTIX members, and becoming a member is FREE! To become a member all you must do is sign up and be between ages 18 and 35. See details at hiptix.com.

-Most Broadway and Off-Broadway show offer Rush and Standing Room tickets. The policies are a little different for each show. Look up your show of choice at playbill.com.

-If you would prefer to buy your tickets in advance, you should check out broadwaybox.com for big savings.
